so long, huh?


i dont think ive written in forever.  thats okay, nobody reads this anyways  :)  the class i was taking was crazy insane with the homework so i didnt have time for anything, not even correct training.  so anyways, i did it!  i ran my half marathon!  i dont know, it was not excited about it as the first one.  i was also 9 minutes slower.  i blame it on the heat.  i finished in 2:22.  a 70 year old man finished in less than a minute behind me!  how awesome is that for him?  but hmmm, what does that say about MY running, lol.  so i took a week break of running after that.  i need to get back this week.  i am thinking of doing 5 miles 3 times a week.  i dont want to burn out or anything.  and my baby probably misses running.  you know whats really funny?  i dont even know where my medal is.  i feel like 13 miles is not that big of an accomplishment.  i guess once you do it once, its not a big deal anymore.  at least, thats how i feel at the moment.

been awhile





so, i havent blogged since wednesday, so sue me.  so what have i been up to?  nm, went running on thursday, ran a half marathon.  yes, you read right...I RAN A HALF MARATHON!  i was supposed to run 13 miles for training on saturday anyways, so i figured i might as well put it off one day and actually run an actual half.  so i forked over some money and got a good experience out of it.  i ran the ING half marathon....one of THE marathons.  let me tell you, it seemed a lot longer than 13 miles.  i finished in 2 hours 13 minutes and 50 seconds.  4422 out of 9655 finishers overall, 1749 out of 5240 female, and 350th out of my age group.  now my legs are sore, and my left foot toes are in horrible shape, but other than that it is all good.  i did better than my goal time for the one i am training for....2 and half hours.  and i did it with working on my feet for 10 hours the day before and only an hour and a half of sleep.  so i hope i do better on the next one, but i dont know, this is a pretty booyah time...for me at least.


oh, i was uber mad though that my ipod turned off 3 miles into the race.  here i did the longest run yet, and it wont show up on nikeplus.  i really wanted to track how i paced myself and everything.  GARRRR.  but i basically averaged a 10.2 mile...what what!?

missed run

so sue me, i missed my monday run.  i usually run on monday afternoons because i work late sunday nights (in bed at like 3 am) so i get a little extra sleep in and just go running at about 5 pm.  but i covered someone's shift for their bday monday night and missed my run.  i WAS going to run a little extra today, but did not feel like it.  so i just did 6 miles.  i am not trying to be pissy about running, i want to enjoy it.  and missing one run is not so bad is it?  i do not think so.  oh i forgot, my hips are 34, belly button 30, and 28 chest.  weight: 119.

a big run

so todays run was horrible.  for a mile and a half near the beginning i had the most painful ouchie on my right side.  it hurt to breath.  but i kept running.  by the third mile the pain finally went away.  then the run was a breeze.  i should have hydrated yesterday....shame on me!  i learned my lesson.  i got up at 6, was out the door at 6:15 and boy was it cold.  but i wore my shorts and tank and had a jacket which i took off @ 2 mile.  and guess what....i did 11 miles!!!!!  i totally have no worries about not completing the half marathon.  i did 11 miles in 2 hours 7 minutes.  go me!  i did the same pace for 11 miles that i take to do 6 miles.  i couldve done 2 more, but i needed to get to church.  i am super psyched about the big day.

just another day

so i ran today......6 miles.  didnt feel awesome like it did on saturday.  i guess all runs cant be great.  i wanted to get in some hip hop abs and had brought everything to my grandma's house (dvd, dvd player, mat, weights) and her tv does not have the capability to hook up a dvd player!  oh well, at least i got to do it yesterday.  i did weigh myself today.....but my retard self did it AFTER my 800 calorie McDonalds lunch.....drrrrr.  i weigh 120 (YaY!) and my hips are 34, belly button 30, and chest 28.  and now i want some dessert  :)

long run


so i did a 9 mile run today.  whoohoo!  i ran twice around the golf course, so it worked out perfect.  and you know what?  it felt great!  and my average pace was 11:21, which i think is better than when i do just 5 miles.  so i feel pretty confident that i will do great in the half marathon.  i figure it will only take me another hour to do the last 4 miles (being generous with the 15 minute miles incase i am dieing) so ill finish in 2 hours 45 minutes.  time will tell.  i ran with my water belt (no baby for this run).....3 waters, one gatorade at my fingertips.  it worked out beautifully.  YaY for my run!

so i went back to sleep for an extra hour this morning since a cold front was coming through.  no need to rush and beat the sun, right?  wrong.  not a cold front.  but, it was nice outside- not hot at all.  and i did get that extra hour of sleep....whoohoo!  so anyways, i decided to try out my new running outfit since pants in miami is not so great.  it is sooo comfortable!  i don't know, maybe it was also the awesome weather, but my run was awesome.  i even did 6 today because it was so great.  so, here is a pic of me pre run and a pic of me post run.  i was afraid that the shirt would ride up too much while running because it is a little to small (i would've rather it was a size bigger, but it was half off so i got it).  it rode up but never went up past my shorts and it was fine the whole run.  hence the second picture- still fitting good :)  i went to the running store today and got a water belt and some more sharkies (the fruit snack like energy stuff) and had a pleasant time.  i cannot wait until saturday for my run.

today i ran 5 miles.  i had wanted to do 6, but it was too too hot and my legs were not feeling so great.  it was sprinkling a little and overcast when i first started and i was like yay clouds!!!!  then it sprinkled too hard for em so we went under a tree for 2 minutes till it totally stopped.  then the sun came out in all its glory and it was so hot!!!  plus i got new shoes last night (the same as the other new ones, just in size 9) so they need to be broken in.  i got a blister this time (the same place as last time) but it didnt hurt at all, and it didnt rub against the back of my ankle or anything.  tomorrow i hope to wear my new running shorts just because i do not want any excuses as to why my run is not going good.  and luckily tomorrow is just a 5 mile. 


oh, i measured myself again today but i dont think i did it right.  my hips were 34, my belly button 29, and my chest 28.  which doesnt make sense with last weeks numbers.  oh well.  i weighed 119 though, and i cant mess that up  :)

new distance!



so i reached a new distance- 7.5 miles!!!!  i did it in an hour and 33 minutes, which i think is pretty kick butt.  i wanted to make it a nice even 8 but i had the baby with me and i didnt want her to get bored....well, too bored.   here are some pics of me and em post run.....all sweaty and whatnots.

okay, i am officially signed up for the half marathon.  so no excuses now!  it is on march 1, so 8 weeks to train!!!  i am uber excited and i really hope i can finish the whole thing.  i can do 7 miles now, so what's 6 more miles??  lol....well, with all the other people there, i should have lots of motivation  :)
